The weather is getting dryer, and you may have noticed that your plants are getting thirsty again. Time to get a rain barrel, save our precious water resources and save yourself some cash!
There is a rain barrel Make and Take workshop at the Nature Center on Honeymoon Island this Saturday, October 13th at 10 AM. The workshop takes less than an hour and you will take home your very own rain barrel, ready to use!
It's easy, fun, infomative and a great family and friends outing.

The cost is pretty reasonable, too! $35 if you don't need to screen the top of the barrel, and $42.05 if you need it with the screening. Tax will be added to both, but you get in the park free - just mention at the toll booth that you are coming to the class. The cost is per barrel, so you can bring extra people if you like. Bug spray is a good idea, too.
To reserve your spot, please sign up online at www.islandparks.org (look for the Rain Barrel class link on the right side of the page in the scrolling box). You will be able to pay right there with a credit card through PayPal. Or you can stop by the Nature Center before 5 PM Friday nite and pay in person. For questions, call Sharon at 352-217-8717.
