The 90-minute walking tour covers documented true crime, local legends, and reported paranormal activity at historic downtown landmarks. Guests hear real stories connected to a hanging tree, a devastating fire, a murder tied to a possible brothel, a daring bank robbery, and the city's funeral home past. The tour includes exclusive entry into the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa lobby and History Hall, a ghost hunting sampler at the Elf Tree using dowsing rods, a spirit box, cat balls, and the flashlight experiment, and Cynthia's personal restaurant recommendations for Safety Harbor. You have to show up to find out which ones make the list.
Since 2021 Silent Slayer has documented consistent unexplained activity at a specific location on this route before, during, and after every tour. The phenomenon has been observed on evenings when Cynthia is not even in Safety Harbor. A psychic medium who has investigated it believes it is not a coincidence. Silent Slayer documents everything and lets guests draw their own conclusions.

Safety Harbor Ghost Tour: Haunted History and True Crime

The original Tarpon Springs ghost tour runs select nights through April at 8:00 PM, Led by local guide and screenwriter Ace Chapman, Silent Slayer Ghost Tours has been running the only authentic paranormal walking tour through historic downtown Tarpon Springs since 2023. Check <a href="https://silentslayertours.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">silentslayertours.com</a> for available dates.
The tour covers the story of Marshal Ruben Jones, described by a former Tarpon Springs Mayor as "the toughest, meanest, killingest man" in the city's history. Elected Marshal for 12 straight one-year terms beginning in 1906. Shot a challenger in the back at Spring Bayou. Tried, acquitted, retired in 1920, and found with more than 80 bullet wounds on a hunting trip shortly after. The case has never been solved. His gold badge is now on display at the Tarpon Springs Police Department.
The route also passes the Cheney House, the Old Dry Goods Store that once sold coffins with "embalming if necessary," and the Old Saloon Building where the 1953 film Beneath the 12-Mile Reef filmed its famous fight scene. Guests use dowsing rods on the platform of the historic Train Depot and a spirit box during select moments. Many have heard their own names called back.
There is also Mary. A documented spirit presence in downtown Tarpon Springs who responds to Ace on demand. Silent Slayer has video of Mary turning her streetlight on and off at a guest's request. On one occasion the light exploded. Her full story is shared on the tour and not before.
