The Ian Tilmann Foundation presents a unique day for music fans, skaters and surfers.
Starting at 10am, the Skate Jam and Board-A-Thon welcomes surfers, wind-surfers, paddle boards, and kayaks, as well as longboarders, bowl riders, and street skaters. NOTE: Adult supervision is required for participants under 16.
Paddle boards will be available for free; kayaks and wind-riders will be available to rent. All skaters and surfers must wear helmets; free loaner helmets will be on site.

The music kicks off at noon featuring live performances from 12pm to 6:15pm.
A Paul Smith Reed electric guitar will be raffled, and there will be food and drinks available for purchase.

In addition, enjoy a display of vintage skateboards from the Florida Skateboard Museum in the recreation center's lobby.
All proceeds benefit the foundation's "Helmet For A Promise" program, which provides free custom helments to skaters and surfers who promise to wear one.
The foundation started the program in memory of 28-year-old Ian Tilmann of Dunedin, who was not wearing a helmet when he suffered brain injuries while skateboarding and later died.
