Dansville is an historic Black neighborhood that dates to 1940, when it housed citrus workers who picked, processed and packed oranges among the vast groves that once dominated Pinellas County. It is part of what’s known today as the Greater Ridgecrest Area, located in unincorporated Largo, north of where Ulmerton Road curves into Walsingham Road.

The Dansville Neighborhood Development Corporation has partnered with the Pinellas County Historic Preservation Board to install this Florida Historical Marker as one of several projects to help maintain Dansville's neighborhood identity and celebrate its history.
