Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:
- Despite efforts to save the Dunedin Kellogg Mansion, it has now been demolished. After standing for nearly 100 years, it took only days for bulldozers to reduce the historical structure to rubble. Dunedin's residents had one last chance to explore the mansion when its current owners and the Dunedin History Museum held a semiformal farewell party in November. The Kellogg Mansion will live on in a virtual presentation, which is still in production with no scheduled release date just yet. Read the full article to learn more about the Kellogg Mansion's extensive history. (Dunedin Patch)
- Dunedin Commissioners have praised Dunedin residents, Rob and Claudia Walker, for asking the city to grant historic landmark status to their home at 255 Garden Circle North. The classic Florida bungalow was built by Bruce and Nellie Millard of heart pine timber in 1941. They were active members of the Dunedin community, with Bruce involved with the Dunedin Masonic Lodge 192 and Nellie with the Eastern Star Chapter 132 and the Dunedin Garden Club. They were famous for hosting fish fries on their lawn, and now they've become ingrained in Dunedin's history. A second and final reading on the bungalow's historic landmark designation will be held on March 10. (Tampa Bay Newspapers)
- Sanctuary Medicinals announced the opening of its sixth medical cannabis dispensary in downtown Dunedin. The 2,300 square-foot dispensary is located at 1352 Main Street and will be the company's first to offer a drive-thru. In celebration of their grand opening, they will be offering special deals for new and returning patients all weekend. (PR Newswire | Sanctuary Medicinals)
