Money Matters for Kids

Since April is National Financial Literary Month, What’s Your GPA is teaming up with the Dunedin Public Library to introduce the program. Money Matters for Kids is a financial capability program for kids.

What’s Your GPA? is a newly formed not-for-profit organization established to assist children and adults with developing Goals, Plans and Action steps to assist them in obtaining financial security to achieve the lifestyles they desire.

The program’s kickoff event will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at the Dunedin Public Library from 5 to 7pm. The event is geared towards children ages 4-10 and their parents. There will be live entertainment, games, and prizes. Local community leaders and teen volunteers will assist the kids to better understand the concept of money. Children will move through series of interactive play stations including currency identification, the value of money, “what’s it worth”, “wants vs. needs”, saving vs. spending, and finally family expenses and budgeting.

This event is an introduction to a free financial capability program which will be offered at the library either this summer or after school starting in the middle of September. Parents will determine when the curriculum begins.
