Naked Woman Driving Golf Cart Arrested Driving Into SWAT Standoff

Deputies said a woman drove naked on a golf cart into a standoff between officers and a house where a gunman was stationed.

DUNEDIN, FL — In the middle of a standoff between the Pinellas County sheriff's SWAT and Negotiator Response teams and an armed man on the roof of a house, a naked woman was arrested for driving a golf cart through the crime scene.

According to the sheriff's office, on Sunday night deputies set up a perimeter outside a home in the 1100 block of Michigan Boulevard after 18-year-old Myles Abbott climbed onto the roof and held a gun on deputies on the ground for about six hours.

In the midst of the standoff, deputies said Jessica Elisabeth Smith, 28, of Boston, Massachusetts, drove naked on a golf cart into the crime scene and toward the house where the gunman was stationed, ignoring commands to leave the scene.

Deputies said Smith "had a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person, and she was completely nude."

They said her actions put deputies at additional risk of getting shot by Abbott.

Deputies managed to corral and handcuff Smith. She was charged with resisting an officer without violence.
