New Edgewater Park Playground Open To Kids Of All Abilities

Just in time for plenty of summer play, Dunedin Parks & Recreation has opened its newest playground at Edgewater Park.

DUNEDIN, FL -- Just in time for plenty of summer play, Dunedin Parks & Recreation has opened its newest playground at Edgewater Park, 51 Main St., Dunedin, just west of Downtown Dunedin and near Dunedin Marina.

The playground incorporates a nautical theme in keeping with the marina and being on the water. The equipment is decked out in bright blue and teal colors of the ocean and splashed with sea life creatures swimming and floating around.

It has separate play areas for children 2-5 and 5-12, and features slides, climbers, a rope bridge and merry-go-round spinner.

A new inclusive area has a "dock" ramp that leads kids to the "Sway Fun" boat glider that is accessible to all ages and abilities including wheelchairs. The soft, sand-colored surface helps cushion their landings. Benches are also installed around the playground, giving parents a comfortable place to watch their children play.

In additon to the new playground, Edgewater Park also features two picnic pavilions with tables, grills and electric - perfect for birthday parties, baby showers, family reunions and company picnics.
