Patch Picks: Dunedin Library Shares Favorite Children's Books
If you're looking for a book to celebrate Read Across America Day, this is the list.

You’ll find useful lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girlfriends’ nights out, kids party places, parks and more. This week, Youth Librarian Jennifer Davis shared her top five children's book picks in celebration of the National Education Association's Read Across America Day (March 2).

- "A Sick Day for Amos McGee," written by Philip C. Stead and illustrated by Erin E. Stead. Davis said this book is the newest Caldecott Medal Winner, which awarded annually for illustrations.
- Victoria and Elizabeth Kann's "Purplicious," "Goldilicious" and "Silverlicious" series. Davis said this series is very popular with young girls.
- Anything by Dr. Seuss, because, well, what children's book list is complete without Dr. Suess?
- "Don't Let Pigeons Drive the Bus!" by Mo Willems. Actually, any of Mo Willems' books are good for young children just learning to read. Some of Willems' other titles include "Let's Say Hi to Friends Who Fly," "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!," "The Pigeon Wants a Puppy!," "Cat the Cat Who Is That?," and "What's Your Sound Hound the Hound."
- "If You Give A Cat a Cupcake," by Laura Numeroff, the author of the ever popular "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie."
