Pinellas County Closes Beaches Due To Coronavirus

The Pinellas County Commission has unanimously voted to close all public beaches and parking areas.

The Pinellas County Commission has unanimously voted to close all public beaches and parking areas.The order is part of an expansion of the county's local state of emergency, which was activated over concerns about the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. The beach closures begin Saturday and will last until April 6.

Public parking and access to water at the Dunedin Causeway will be CLOSED starting tonight at 11:59 p.m. to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The Causeway will be open only to traffic to Honeymoon Island or for residents. The State Parks of Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island will remain at 50 percent capacity until further notice by the state of Florida.
