Pinellas County Commissioners To Extend Local State Of Emergency Through July 24

The board heard from public health and EMS officials about the challenges presented by COVID-19 before taking a vote.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — At its Thursday, July 16, regular meeting, the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners voted to extend the Local State of Emergency declaration for COVID-19 through July 24.

Before adopting the resolution, the Board heard from Department of Health Pinellas Director Dr. Ulyee Choe and Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Medical Director Dr. Angus Jameson about the complex challenges presented by COVID-19.

The Board voted unanimously to extend the local state of emergency with all members present.
