Here are the top three stories today in Dunedin:
- On Tuesday, May 3, the Pinellas County School Board met to discuss its superintendent search process. The board had previously chosen to move forward with three finalists and reviewed the final selection steps in yesterday's meeting. Keven Hendrick, Michael Ramirez, and Ann Hembrook were asked to send in both written responses and responses via video to interview questions. On-site interviews will be held on Wednesday, May 11, and Thursday, May 12, and a community meet-and-greet with the candidates is planned for next week. (ABC Action News Tampa Bay)
- The Dunedin housing market is hot, and there are multiple properties here in town that have just been listed for sale. Available homes range from a 2-bed, 2-bath property for $224,900 to a 4-bed, 3-bath property for $875,000. There's also a 2-bed, 1-bath condo on Heather Ridge Boulevard listed for $182,500, with an upcoming open house on May 7. Get all the details on Patch. (Dunedin Patch)
- During Hurricane Preparedness Week, Pinellas County officials are running a hurricane simulation exercise called "Hurricane Amaranth." The simulated hurricane will make "landfall" on Friday as a category 2 storm and will test the County's response to worst-case scenarios of losing power and cell service. Pinellas County Emergency Management tests all of its communication devices ahead of hurricane season and plans to deploy portable cell phone towers when cell service is disrupted during the simulation.
