The preliminary plan for the future use of development along US 19 will be presented Tuesday at Holiday Inn Express, 2580 Gulf to Bay Blvd.

Clearwater is planning to make the US 19 corridor more attractive, successful and sustainable.
A market analysis, land use assessment study and focus group sessions were conducted to identify challenges faced along the corridor. A preliminary framework plan and strategies will be presented at a US 19 workshop, Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., at Holiday Inn Express, 2580 Gulf to Bay Blvd. The presentation will take place at 5 p.m.
The study area includes the US 19 corridor segment from Belleair Road north to Curlew Road. Recommendations will address the future of property fronting directly on US 19 and propertywith long-term development potential within a half-mile of the corridor.

The study also will consider the future of sites located in the area defined by US 19, Gulf to Bay Boulevard, Drew Street and North McMullen Booth Road.
Conditions along the corridor have changed dramatically over the past several years, and along the Clearwater stretch, especially. The roadway’s redesign, changes in access and circulation patterns, and the economic downturn have impacted property owners, businesses, and local residents.
