Looking for a great place to put up guests in Dunedin?

We all know Dunedin is a great place to visit. And we love it when our friends and family come to town. We just don't always want them to actually stay in our homes. But how do we get that across without sounding, you know, a little rude…?
Here's an idea: strongly suggest they stay at the Mai Tai Suites. Owners John and Karen Bickford offer fully furnished 850 square foot 2-bed, 1-bath suites for less than the price of a hotel.
Mai Tai Suites is located off the Dunedin Causeway and is surrounded by St. Joseph's Sound. It's convenient to Clearwater Beach and Downtown Dunedin. It's also dog-friendly (with no pet fee), and offers a free guest pass to nearby Honeymoon Island State Park.
Invite all your friends and family to visit Dunedin — and tell them to book their rooms at Mai Tai Suites today. Book direct with Mai Tai Suites to save up to 15% of typical online booking site fees.
Now, today's weather:
Some rain and a thunderstorm. High: 74 Low: 65.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Dunedin who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our readers to local businesses they need to know. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top stories today in Dunedin:
1) Dunedin city officials push forward on the nature preserve initiative. As of Dec. 14, the planning agency has "approved the annexation of two unplatted parcels consisting of 78.80 acres located south of Indigo Drive and east of Weathersfield Drive. Included is Jerry Lake," Tampa Bay News reports. In January, the City Commission will review ordinances for the project, before it moves on to the county for review. Plans for the project include an observation tower, hiking trails, a kayak launch and a brand-new nature center — how exciting! Tampa Bay News has more on this exciting development here.
2) Reminder: All City of Dunedin facilities will be closed Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, in observance of New Year's Day. Residential curbside solid waste and recycling services will continue in their regular collections schedule. For additional details head over to the city's website.

From my notebook:
- 🛴 Scooter program for the kiddos: "Does your little one own a trick scooter? Or did they receive one for Christmas? Dunedin Parks & Recreation is offering a 'Little Rippers' program for ages 3-5 at MLK Rec Center/Skate Park. Our instructor will work hands-on with your little ripper teaching them the fundamental skills and staying safe while on their trick scooter. This program is held Fridays, January 6-27, 11:30 am-12:15 pm. $35/person." (City of Dunedin Florida - Government via Facebook)
- 📅 Dunedin American Legion January 2023 Event Schedule: "Here is our calendar of events. As always subject to change." (Dunedin American Legion Post 275 via Facebook)
- 😻 Paws-itive news from the SPCA: "🎉 A Very Backstreet Adoption 🎉 All five of the Backstreet Boy Kittens have found their fur-ever homes. A big thanks to the Backstreet Kitten fandom for helping spread the word about these lil' guys and getting them adopted so quickly..." (SPCA Tampa Bay via Facebook)
