Raising Chickens 101 Workshop Offered

Interested in trying your hand at raising backyard chickens? A county workshop will offer some tips.

The basics of raising and caring for backyard chickens will be covered in a Pinellas County course – Chickens 101 – at Weedon Island Preserve on April 20.

Experts will discuss housing, health and nutrition needs of of backyard chickens.

The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the preserve's Education Center in St. Petersburg.

The cost is $10 per family.

Backyard chickens are allowed in Dunedin, Largo, Gulfport, St. Petersburg, Belleair and unincorporated Pinellas.Β
