Welcome back, Dunedin! Let's get this day started. Here's everything worth knowing around Dunedin today.

Areas of fog in the morning. High: 73 Low: 63.

Here are the top stories in Dunedin today:

  1. Need a kids-free night out on the town? Dunedin Parks and Recreation is hosting Santa's Workshop for kids the night of December 17 at the MLK Jr. Recreation Center. For just $20 per child, you'll have two hours to yourself while your kids get to participate in various holiday activities. Kids will participate in Christmas themed games, make a holiday gift for someone special, and decorate cookies. (Press Release Desk)
  2. The Dunedin Water Treatment Plant continues to undergo repairs after being damaged in a fire back in September. An update from the City's RO manufacturer states most of the water processes are back online, making the water safe to drink. The only process not online is the reverse osmosis process, which should be partially back online by mid-December. Until then you may notice mineral deposits on dishes or appliances as hardness levels are three times higher than normal. (Press Release Desk)
  3. The Pinellas County Christmas Lights Contest is up and running, giving contestants the chance to win $1,000. An interactive map indicates where all participants are located, including some in Dunedin. You can still sign up to participate in the contest until December 18, as long as your home is in Pinellas County. Voting will continue until midnight on December 28. (WFLA)
  4. Looking for a unique holiday gift? Consider the 2022 Tampa Bay Taco Tour book, a passport of sorts to the best locally-owned taquerias including Dunedin's very own Caracara. The book makes a great stocking stuffer as it gives book holders insight into Tampa Bay's best restaurants and free tacos at each participating location. (Osprey Observer)
