Here are the top three stories today in Dunedin:
- During a spirited zoning discussion last week, city commissioners gave final approval to an ordinance creating the South Dunedin Character Overlay District. As part of the process that led to the ordinance, neighborhood meetings were held in 2019 and 2020 and a zoning study for south Dunedin was conducted. (Tampa Bay Newspapers)
- Over 500 Pinellas County students had their artwork submitted to an exhibition hosted by the James Museum. Students turned memories into 3D sculptures for the "Time inForms Art" show, which is on display at the James Museum in nearby St. Petersburg. If you are in the area over the week or so, check out the art show, which will feature students' work until May 8. (Patch)
- A Dunedin man was arrested on Monday and charged with simple battery and false imprisonment, according to Pinellas County Sheriff's Office online booking records. James Trevor Byron Thompson, 39, allegedly claimed he was Jesus Christ in another life, trapped a juvenile in a locker room, and kissed the juvenile without his consent. Thompson was arrested and posted $4,000 bail early Tuesday. (WHIO)
