Scottish American Society Hosts Whisky Tasting Fundraiser

Proceeds from the Charity Whisky Tasting on October 29 will support Scottish American Society community youth programs in Dunedin.

Whisky aficionados will have a chance to taste four of Scotland's estate-bottled award-winning whiskies at the Charity Whisky Tasting hosted by the Scottish American Society of Dunedin. Proceeds will help support the organization's community youth programs.

The Scottish American Society will host a public Charity Whisky Tasting at the organization’s historic Scottish Hall in Dunedin on Saturday, October 29, 2016. The opportunity to sample award-winning whiskies from Scotland’s Islands, Speyside and Islay regions will include a presentation by Certified Sommelier, Kyle Corman, guiding whisky aficionados on an educational tour to explore the finer points of understanding whisky.

Proceeds from the Charity Whisky Tasting will support Scottish American Society community youth programs. Dunedin Brewery owner, Michael Bryant, will act as Honorary Steward to welcome guests from the Tampa Bay area as they toast the health of community youth. The event is open to the public and begins at 6:30pm at the Scottish Hall located at 917 Louden Avenue in Dunedin, Florida. Seating is limited. Tickets must be purchased prior to October 26th. Tasting tickets are $45 per person and include a light meal and beverages following the tasting along with a raffle and auction.

“We are proud to present some of Scotland’s finest estate bottled small production whiskies to our historic Scottish Hall in Dunedin,” says Event Chairman, Harvey Smith. “At the same time, we are pleased that the proceeds will help support our community youth,” added Smith.
