Presidents Day: What's Open, Closed In Pinellas County
An in-service training day for county employees is set for Feb 15.
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County government will hold an in-service training day for county employees on Monday, Feb. 15. This staff development day allows county departments and employees to discuss project priorities for 2021 and align their annual work agendas with Pinellas County’s strategic plan.
The following departments will be closed as a result:
• Human Services and Veterans Services offices

• Contractor Licensing Department offices
• Building and Development Review Services offices

• Public Works offices
• Pinellas County Animal Services offices & adoption center
• Property Appraiser’s offices
• Tax Collector’s offices
• Supervisor of Elections offices
The Solid Waste Disposal Facility will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, the Solid Waste Administration Building and Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center (HEC3) facility will be closed.
County parks and preserves and the Florida Botanical Gardens will be open Monday. Boat ramps and beach access areas will also be open. The administrative offices of Parks and Conservation resources will be closed. As a result, annual beach and boat ramp parking permits will only be available for sale at the following locations:
• Ft. De Soto Park: 3500 Pinellas Bayway S., Tierra Verde
• Sutherland Bayou Bait Shack: 2119 US Alt. 19, Palm Harbor
Annual pass requests will be available online with a 48-hour turn-around for mailing.
The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will be in session with normal operating hours.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court office locations will also be open normal business hours on Monday.
All Pinellas County facilities will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
