Weekend in Dunedin: Oktobeerfest, Cut Cancer Party, Classic Cars

There is lots going on in Dunedin this weekend.

6th Annual Cut Cancer Out Weekend

  • When: Friday through Sunday, Oct. 4-6Β (start times vary, see listing for details)
  • Where: Cricketer's Pub,Β 2634 Bayshore Blvd., Dunedin
  • Why Go? This annual parking lot party has something for every age group: live music, hair cuts, face painting,Β a dunk tank contest, raffles andΒ auctions and a fundraiser walk. The best part? All proceeds go toΒ Children's Cancer Center of Tampa and The Morton Plant Mease Foundation’s Mammogram Voucher Program. Hair donations will be sent to Locks of Love and The Angel Hair Foundation.

Dunedin Brewery's 13th Annual Oktobeerfest

  • When: Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 3-6 (start times vary, see listing for details)
  • Where: Dunedin Brewery,Β 937 Douglas Ave.
  • Why Go? This street party to kick off OctoberΒ is Dunedin's take onΒ a longstanding GermanΒ tradition. EnjoyΒ seasonal beer, German food and a greatΒ live music lineup all weekend longΒ with your friends and family.

Friday Night Films in the Park

  • When: Friday, Oct. 4 at 8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Pioneer Park, 420 Main St., Dunedin
  • Why Go? The first weekend in October means free Friday night films are back in Pioneer Park. Bring the kids and a blanket or lawn chairs and relax under the stars. This week's showing isΒ "Despicable Me." Concessions available at cost.Β 

Dunedin Antiques Fair and Classic Car Show

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: Antique show is atΒ Edgewater Park; Car show is on Broadway in downtown Dunedin
  • Why Go? This free family event is an homage to days gone by. If you love vintage and retro, this downtown event is right up your alley.

Piano Concert: "Songs That Helped Me Survive Behind the Iron Curtain"

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.
  • Where:Β Dunedin Public Library, 223 Douglas Ave
  • Why Go?Β A political refugee and pianist from the Soviet Union shares her music and stories in an inspirational concert at Dunedin Public Library. Call 727-298-3080, Ext. 1704, for more information.
