What's the Real Cost of FREE Anti-Virus Protection?

Most people that come in our shop the first time and believe that trial anti-virus protection is free but there's a hidden cost.

They are partially right until they find themselves in a computer repair shop because a virus slipped though and invaded their system due to a watered down trial version of a free anti-virus program. Does it help if it's a big name software company? No, not really. Think about it. Are they in business to make money or give out free trials?

How do customers end up with Free Trial Versions of anti-virus protection on their computers?

Well, many of them make that choice because they didn't want to spend the $30-80 dollars on full anti-virus protection.  They apparently would rather pay for computer repairs no matter how often they occur instead of being proactive and investing in a paid version of anti-virus software. The remainder and most frustrating way is because the last computer repair shop they went to TOLD THEM that the free anti-virus protection is enough protection. They sold them an illusion of safety.

Hmmm, why would a computer repair shop say something like that?

Believe it or not they know that encouraging customers to use Free trials of anti-virus protection is a sure fire way for them to see you again in weeks or months- spending $100's of dollars on virus clean-ups that were most likely preventable. They've just created their type of "repeat" customer base; something we at Clearwater Laptop Service Repair will never do! We know it is a "best industry practice" to educate you about the benefits of effective full anti-virus protection. We also know that even with superior anti-virus protection, hackers are a relentless breed and there will continue to be new viruses that slip through the cracks. They will continue to attack protected systems and need to be removed.

If you are located in or near by Dunedin, Florida come and see us for all of your technology needs.

We believe it is vital that you have full anti-virus protection. That's why we offer a FULL 1 year, 1 computer version of TrendMicro Internet Anti-Virus Protection for only $29.95.  Most retailers sell this version of TrendMicro for $50 to 80 dollars. Yes, they have a Free Trial and it is definitely better than NO protection but in the end isn't it better to spend the small amount for full paid protection than to continue to have service bills for system damage due to unchecked virus invasions?
