Here are the top 3 stories in Dunedin today:
- Members of the Dunedin Writers Group will host a free event on Jan. 7, where they will read some of their best work. Held in Meeting Room A at the Dunedin Library between 1 and 3 p.m., attended will hear roughly 10 people in the group read a short piece they've written. The DWG holds readings to give local authors a place to present their work and acquaint the public with the group. While you're there, be sure to pick up a copy of "The Best of Dunedin Writers Group, 2022," the group's annual anthology! It's also available at Back in the Day Books for those who can't make it to the reading. Email dwgwritersgroup@gmail.com for more information. (Dunedin Patch)
- Need some tips to help you declutter your life? Dana K. White, creator of the popular podcast and blog "A Slob Comes Clean," will host a webinar on Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. sharing tips from her books "Organizing for the Rest of Us" and "Decluttering at the Speed of Life." Organized by the Dunedin Public Library, you won't have to leave your house to participate in this event either live or catch the recording after the fact. According to the event description, "Dana will share actionable mindset shifts that will free you to make fast decluttering progress using minimal emotional energy. In addition, she offers sustainable ideas to simplify and manage your home and will teach you how to make great strides with minimal effort in every room of our home." Register online now to attend! (Dunedin Public Library)
- The Dunedin Fine Art Center is holding a free Family Fun Night on Jan. 13 between 5 and 7 p.m. Enjoy some time with the family experiencing their hands-on exhibit, "Artsy Architecture." The exhibit provides an interactive, hands-on experience ideal for kids between four and 12 years old. It provides an environment where kids can explore how art and science go hand in hand in creating our world's architecture. Kids will have the opportunity to work in an architect's office with a drafting table and blueprints, climb famous structures in the museum's green screen theater, and much more! (DFAC)
