Rain Fails to Stop Firefighters From Campaigning
Patch found two East Lake Firefighters who were willing to brave the weather and risk getting sopping wet for their candidate on Election Day.
Firefighters are known for their bravery when it comes to risking their lives while battling fires. Patch found two firefighters who were willing to brave the weather and risk getting sopping wet for their candidate on Election Day. Â
East Lake Firefighters Kenny Lane and Doug Stryjewski are supporters of Dave Root, who is seeking another term as East Lake Fire Commissioner. The firefighters stood on the sidewalk outside the East Lake Library on Tuesday, smiling and waving at voters as they arrived at the precinct.
"He's done a great job since he stepped in, and we're hoping for two more years of his support," said Kenny Lane, as raindrops dripped off his fire hat onto the blue "Root" campaign sign he was holding.

Doug Stryjewski agreed.
"We're out here supporting Dave Root for East Lake Fire Commissioner. He's done a good job keeping the taxes down and supporting firefighters and the citizens"
