Fossil Valley Girl Scouts Honors Peyton Stamps with 2026 Scholarship Award

LITHIA, Fla. — The Fossil Valley Girl Scouts Service Unit is proud to recognize Peyton Stamps as a recipient of the 2026 Fossil Valley Scholarship, honoring her years of service, leadership, and dedication to the Girl Scout movement.

For thirteen years, Peyton has embodied the values of Girl Scouting through volunteer service, mentorship, and leadership. Since joining the Fossil Valley Service Unit in 2019, she has played an active role in numerous events, including Juliette Gordon Low Birthday celebrations, cookie rallies, Daddy Daughter Dances, World Thinking Day, recruiting events, and both younger and older girl encampments.

As a military child who experienced multiple moves across the country, Peyton found a constant source of friendship, belonging, and opportunity through Girl Scouts. In her scholarship essay, she described Girl Scouts as representing both dedication and sisterhood—values that helped her build lifelong friendships and confidently navigate new beginnings.

Peyton earned her Silver Award through "The Stuffy Project," a community service initiative that collected more than 200 stuffed animals for children entering protective care through the Hillsborough County Child Protective Investigation Division. The project provided comfort to children facing difficult circumstances while helping Peyton strengthen her project management and leadership skills.

Her commitment to helping others extends beyond award projects. Fellow volunteers have witnessed Peyton's ability to guide younger Girl Scouts, including serving as a group leader for the Cadette AMAZE Journey in a Day program. There, she helped middle school girls navigate topics such as friendship, relationships, and personal growth while demonstrating confidence, empathy, and leadership.

This fall, Peyton will attend Florida State University, majoring in Writing, Editing, and Media. She will begin her college journey with a semester abroad in London, England, and plans to pursue her education with the support of scholarships she has earned through her hard work and dedication.

"Throughout her years in Girl Scouts, Peyton has demonstrated exceptional leadership, compassion, and service," said Fossil Valley volunteers. "She has consistently stepped forward to support younger girls and strengthen our community, leaving a positive impact that will be felt for years to come."

The Fossil Valley Scholarship recognizes graduating Girl Scouts who exemplify the highest ideals of Girl Scouting through leadership, volunteerism, and community engagement.
