Newsome High School PAWS Club Launches Holiday Donation Drive to Support Local Animals in Need
From December 2–17, donations may be sent with Newsome students to Room 422
Lithia, FL — As the holiday season approaches, Newsome High School’s PAWS Club is leading a community wide effort to support the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center and partner rescue, A Kitten Place. The student-run organization, led by President Victoria Pressley and Vice President Kaylee Gibbs, is collecting essential items to bring comfort and care to local shelter pets.
From December 2–17, donations may be sent with Newsome students to Room 422. Community members outside the school are also invited to participate through a neighborhood drop-off location:

Requested items include:
- Fleece blankets
- Kitten formula
- Dog and cat toys
- Dog balls
- Pupperoni and Milk-Bone treats
- Puppy pads

- Clean towels (new or gently used)
- Quick-snap dog collars (M–XL)
- Stretch ’n Scratch cat scratchers
- Sturdy leashes (4–6 ft, non-retractable)
- Dentastix treats
- KONG toys
- Dog harnesses (M–XL)
- Small fleece cat blankets
- Ping-pong balls and waterproof cat toys
- Wet and dry food for dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens
- Peanut butter, honey, broth
- Unscented baby wipes
All donations directly benefit the animals at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center and A Kitten Place, helping provide comfort, enrichment, and basic care during the busiest time of year for local shelters.
