🎨 Progress Village Art Teacher Ms. Gonzalez Nominated for Best New Mural in Best of the Bay 🎨

Progress Village Middle Magnet School of the Arts is proud to celebrate Ms. Gonzalez, one of our beloved art teachers, whose mural work at HP Performance Center / Kiwi Volleyball has been nominated for Best New Mural in Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay 2026!

For years, Ms. Gonzalez has inspired our students with her calm, kind, and encouraging approach to art. She creates an environment where students feel comfortable exploring their creativity while encouraging them to share their talents beyond the classroom.

Ms. Gonzalez regularly encourages students to participate in local, state, and national art competitions and serves as the PTSA Reflections Artistic Lead, helping students showcase their creativity through this national arts program.

She also goes above and beyond to create opportunities for our students, including spending her own time applying for grants and finding new and innovative creative outlets for young artists.

Her impact can be seen throughout Progress Village. Students and families may recognize her artwork in the new school theatre, as well as the incredible student artwork displayed in the North Gallery.

Now, our community has an opportunity to celebrate Ms. Gonzalez's artistic talent beyond our school walls!

Her mural work from the past five years at HP Performance Center / Kiwi Volleyball is competing for Best New Mural in Creative Loafing's Best of the Bay.
