• Boil-water notice enters a second week in this small Polk town (bradenton.com) — Fort Meade residents remain under a citywide precautionary boil-water notice more than a week after a contractor damaged a main water line, draining the water tower and disrupting pressure. City crews and consultants are repairing leaks, replacing a rare 14-inch valve, and adjusting system controls, while officials work on better notification methods after some residents said they never received direct alerts.
