Celebrate the 52nd birthday of Big Cypress National Preserve at the Oct. 10 Big Cypress Celebration!

This adventure‑driven day in Big Cypress will invite guests to explore the preserve through guided hikes offered every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with two hike options: a 90‑minute immersive walk and a 30‑minute introductory walk. A camping option is also available, with limited space. Proceeds directly support The Alliance’s wide‑ranging efforts to fund education, exploration and conservation across Florida’s four national parks.

Enjoy live entertainment by Gator Nate, Florida’s self-proclaimed “wildest one-man band,” performing his signature blend of homegrown swamp blues and country funk.

Attendees should prepare with the following clothing and equipment guidelines:

• Wear clothes that can get wet and muddy; avoid dark colors

• Closed toe shoes with laces are required; old sneakers work best

• No Crocs, rubber boots, or waders

• Long pants are recommended

• Bring a change of dry clothes and shoes

• Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated; a refill station will be available

• Bring a hat, sunblock and insect repellant (#rangerready bug spray will be available)

• Walking sticks will be provided
