Fort Myers Fire Department To Be Featured On A&E’s 'Live Rescue'

The lifesaving work of Fort Myers Fire Department crew members will be featured on Season 3 of “Live Rescue,” a reality program on the A&E network. The city granted permission for Live Rescue to follow activities in Fire Station 11 (FMFD Headquarters), one of the busiest stations in Fort Myers in terms of call volume. Filming begins this week.

“Having our department on Live Rescue gives citizens a glimpse into everyday situations we encounter on the job as firefighters,” said Chief Tracy McMillion. “In addition, the recruitment value is tremendous.”

Live Rescue follows fire departments around the country, including marine unit calls. Viewers can expect to see rescue scenes involving health and safety incidents, structure fires and vehicle accidents. The new season airs on Friday and Saturday at 9:00 p.m.
