Good Afternoon Healthcare and Senior Service’s Colleagues!  I hope you are all having an Amazing Friday !

During National Assisted Living Week, the Associates, Residents and Families will be organizing  a very special community outreach project for Lee County Homeless Coalition.

I had a conversation with Therese at the Lee County Homeless Coalition in regards to Arden Courts of Fort Myers Community Outreach Project, during National Assisted Living Week. Therese was thrilled that we are doing this. The largest percent of homeless in Lee County are over the age of 65 and many are veterans. They desperately need our help.

Today, I am reaching out to all of you, asking if you could assist our community in this project.

On September 16th,2021- Our Residents and Associates will be putting together Hygiene Kits for our homeless.

Items Needed :

Large Gallon Zip Loc Bags

In each bag or divide in two ( Male Bags and Female Bags)

Small Shampoo / Conditioner

Body Wash

Lotion

Tooth brushes- Toothpaste

Mouth Wash

Aspirin

Ibuprofen

Sunscreen

Deodorant- roll on or stick

Wash Cloth’s

Handi Wipe packs

Disposable razors- male and female

Shaving cream

Small packs of Band-Aid’s

Feminine hygiene products- sanitary napkins and tampons

Bug Spray

Combs – Brushes – Hair ties – Scrunches’’

There has also been a large volume request for small compact umbrellas

They also have another program where larger items can be donated:

Rapid Rehousing Project ( normally for families). This program is for the families the Lee County Homeless Coalition houses in area motels, but the motels do not provide essential items for the stay.   These can go into separate larger boxes- currently there are approximately 8 families on this program.

Bagged Snacks- Crackers- Cookies- Granola Bars ( longer expiration date items )

Laundry Detergent

Dryer Sheets

Razors / Shaving Cream ( Male and Female)

Small packs of Band-Aid’s

Feminine hygiene products- sanitary napkins and tampons

Combs – Brushes – Hair ties – Scrunchies’’

We would need all items on or prior to September 15th,2021 – You can drop them off to our reception desk each day until 4:30pm. (15950 McGregor, 33908)
