Class begins with a demonstration focusing on the most direct and effective methods for painting strong, vibrant oils using painting knives and a limited palette. Afterwards, participants will paint from their own photography or may choose to paint from one of the large photos provided for them by the instructor.

Arts & Ends Holiday Sale and Craft Show

Saturday, December 4 • Our Arts & Ends Holiday Sale and Craft Show is about more than great finds, it’s also about great artists. Avoid the malls and retail stores this holiday season and find locally made, truly unique gifts for your loved ones, or something special for yourself, all while supporting local artists. More than a dozen local artists will display their hand-crafted items throughout the Alliance gallery.

200 Under $200: Small Works Off the Wall

Drop off is Monday, December 6 • Coinciding with the onset of the holiday shopping season, this gallery show features artworks of all mediums priced at $200 or less. If you are an Alliance member, consider submitting two (2) original 2D or 3D artworks for exhibit in the gallery. All works must be for sale and priced $200 or under.

Wine.0 Workshop

Thursday, December 16 • Happier than happy hour, our Wine.0 Workshop is an introduction into the mysterious and delicious world of wine! A combination of fun and education, there will be an hour and a half of classroom conversation and instruction, followed by an hour and a half of wine tasting and socializing. Sip back, relax and develop a good foundation of wine knowledge and an understanding of how to taste wine — the perfect event for a celebration or break from the routine!

The Roommate by Jen Silverman

In the Theatre December 9 – 19 • Sharon, in her mid-fifties, is recently divorced and needs a roommate to share her Iowa home. Robyn, also in her mid-fifties, needs a place to hide and a chance to start over. But as Sharon begins to uncover Robyn’s secrets, they encourage her own deep-seated desire to transform her life completely. A dark comedy about what it takes to re-route your life – and what happens when the wheels come off.

Larger Than Life Watercolors (Ages 18+)

Wednesdays, January 5 – February 2 • Loosen up and allow the medium to express life for you by working large in watercolor. Local artist Zan Lombardo will help you fall in love with blooms and show you how to treat each shape in a large work as a composition in and of itself.

Reiko and Friends Free Outdoor Holiday Concert

Sunday, December 20 • Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and park yourself on our festival grounds for a special evening orchestral performance by Reiko Niiya, former concertmaster of the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. Reiko will be joined on stage with 10 of her musician friends for a family-fun, festive and free concert! While this event is free and open to the public, a $10 suggested donation supports and sustains our free and affordable arts programming. You may donate in advance online or onsite the day of the event.
