Home Care Assistance Receives Patriotic Employer Award

Home Care Assistance has two locations in Fort Myers and Naples.

Home Care Assistance of Naples (HCA) is proud to receive the Patriotic Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Nancy Stephens, staffing coordinator of HCA, was nominated and won the Patriotic Employer Award by a team member, Andre Moncrieffe, who is also a Specialist of the Florida National Guard.

The Patriotic Employer Award was presented by two volunteers of ESGR, Ken Noble and Kim Garde. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

“My unit was activated in September 2017 for hurricane Irma. My supervisor would call and check on me. She had my shifts covered for the entire time I was activated and was then reinstated on my return home.” said Andre Moncrieffe, caregiver of HCA and Specialist of the Florida National Guard, “I appreciate the level of care and professionalism exhibited by Nancy and by the extension of HCA. Thank you for your support!”.

“We are truly honored and humbled to be presented the Patriotic Award and thank Andre for such a gracious nomination,” says Jorge Cordero, CEO and owner of, Home Care Assistance of Naples and Fort Myers. “We are very thankful for his and all military service members incredible sacrifices they make for us daily through their service. I’m also proud that HCA is an organization that takes great measures to ensure strong support for our team who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

About Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
SGR, a Department of Defense program, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 3,750 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve.
