Last year Macy's announced it planned to close 125 stores over the next three years. The company will shutter its least productive stores as it optimizes its portfolio and aims to cut costs.
After the announcement in early 2020, the company closed more than two dozen stores, including four Florida locations:
- Pompano Citi Centre, Pompano Beach
- Seminole Towne Center, Sanford
- Indian River Mall, Vero Beach
- The Falls, Miami (Bloomingdale's — owned by Macy's)
