On Saturday, December 5, Rotary members will volunteer at our Fort Myers warehouse to assist in the packaging of the holiday meal boxes. Our goal is to pack and donate over 2,000 boxes. In addition to a ham or a chicken, each family will receive a holiday box containing side items such as mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans, fruit, and apple pie. The boxes will also contain snack bars, cereal cups, cookies, cheezit snacks, and our Tender Mercies rice and beans meal.
“The Christmas season offers a time of reflection of the year past, and provides hope for the year ahead. We want to contribute to that hope by putting a full holiday meal on the table.” Says Karl Steidinger, Executive Director of Midwest Food Bank-Florida.
