People with disabilities should be excused from jury duty.

All persons with disabilities, including who live in disabled housing, ought to be permanently excused from jury duty.

Persons with disabilities generally make very poor jurors. Some of them, especially who have autism of any form, bi polar, cerebral palsy, and really any kind of disability, may even have outbursts or fits while in the courtroom. There is a report from last year of a disabled resident of a disabled housing complex that was summoned to jury duty.

Persons with disabilities of any kind, including persons who live in housing for disabled or retired persons, should never be summoned to jury duty. For persons with certain mental and developmental disabilities, even three days of jury duty has the potential to turn into 975,000 consecutive life sentences in prison and/or the death penalty, as perjury is a capital felony under Federal law in the United States.

Known disabled housing complexes in Lee County include but are not limited to; Ohio Place, The Rose Garden, Broadway Place, Coronado Place, Santa Barbara Village, The Pines, Park Villas, and Laurel Oaks. And the Lee County Circuit of Court should not even consider contacting any resident of those housing complexes for jury duty.
