5 Things to Know This Weekend: Veteran's Parade and 'JELVIS' in Concert

Veteran's Parade Today: Come one, come all to the city's first Veterans Parade in downtown Gulfport today at 4. Gulfport Patch will be one of the entries in the parade; we hope to see you there! If you're also in the parade, check in at the Gulfport Public Library at 3. The parade is part of the Heroes Weekend Event. Former Marine and current Stetson Law student Javier Centonzio is spearheading Heroes Weekend with the American Legion Post 125, Gulfport Chamber of Commerce and City of Gulfport.

"JELVIS" in Concert: Come out on Sunday and watch “Tribute to Elvis” at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom and help raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Tickets are $10 each and will be sold at the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce and at the American Legion Post 125. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Tables that seat eight can be reserved in advance for $200. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 6 p.m. The concert wraps up the first ever Heroes Weekend in Gulfport.

"The Constant Wife": This is the last weekend for "The Constant Wife" at the Catherine A. Hickman Theater in Gulfport. The Gulfport Community Players present the play Saturday and Sunday. Mosquito Virus Update: Pinellas County Mosquito Control has confirmed 11 more positive results for St. Louis encephalitis in sentinel chickens since Oct. 25. That brings the total to 36 confirmed positive results.
