Show Cancelled: The first ever "Arts Under the Oaks" event for Saturday Nov. 5 has been cancelled. The event was going to help raise money for the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center Foundation.
Calendars On Sale: Get your Gulfport Historical Society Calendar for $5 today. The theme is "Postcards from Gulfport!" You can pick them up at the Gulfport Historical Museum, 5301 28th Avenue South. The museum is open Monday - Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Admission is free.
Heroes Weekend: Heroes Weekend is announced. Former Marine and current Stetson Law student Javier Centonzio is spearheading Heroes Weekend, a series of public events to honor military service men and women and veterans on Nov. 10, 12 and 13 in Gulfport. The public is invited to enjoy a free concert, a parade and a musical performance benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. Centonzio joined forces with the American Legion Post 125, the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Gulfport to create the Heroes weekend. Game of the Week: The Boca Ciega High School vs. Pinellas Park football game has been selected as the game of the week. The game will be playing on Brighthouse Sports (Ch. 47) on Friday, October 14th, at 7:30pm. Come out and cheer on the team at the home game.
