5 Things to Know Today: Happy Halloween

1) Armed Robbery at Gulfport Kwik Stop: The Gulfport Police Department is searching for the gunman in a Sunday night armed robbery at the Kwik Stop convenience store on Gulfport Blvd. The man is described as 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark pants and a silver and black bandana. The suspect left and headed north on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call the department's non-emergency number at 727-893-1030.

2.) Ultimate Child Costume Contest: Get your photos in tonight! The deadline for Patch's Little Pumpkin Costume Challenge is 9 p.m. Submit your kid's creative Halloween costume and enter for your chance to win a $1,031 donation to your charity of choice and possibly the Grand Prize. What's the Grand Prize? It's a trip to New York or Los Angeles for a two days and three nights. The trip for two includes a meet and greet with Heidi Klum, plus a donation of $1,031 to a local charity of the winner's choice.

3.) Happy Halloween: Attention ghouls, witches and goblins: There's plenty to do in Gulfport. The Gulfport Recreation Center is hosting a "Spooktacular Halloween Bash" at 7 p.m. There is a USA Ballroom Dance Halloween Party tonight at 7.

4) Haunted Houses in Gulfport: And there are at least four neighborhood haunted houses set up to help raise money for several local charities and groups.

• Price: $2 donation per haunted house. Donations will benefit the Gulfport Little League and Fire Explorers Post 945. Organizers are also collecting new and gently used children's books for The Christmas Toy Workshop of St. Pete.

• Price: Donations: money, food, blankets, dog/pet food, school supplies/backpacks and personal hygiene items.
