High near 79, Donate Yard Sale Leftovers, Get Ready for Heroes Weekend and more in "5 Things to Know Today."

1.) Donate Yard Sale Leftovers: Do you have clothes, books, furniture and other items that you didn't sell at the City-Wide Yard Sale this weekend? Donate those items to local nonprofit organizations and charities. The Gulfport Public Library can use your books, tapes, CDs. St. Vincent's Thrift Shop will gladly take your kitchenware or small appliances that still work. And, you're in luck. The monthly Clothing Swap is Tuesday at the Gulfport Fresh Market. Drop off your gently used clothes to be donated to CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse).
2.) Countdown to Heroes Weekend: Plan ahead for the first ever "Heroes Weekend" in Gulfport. There will be a free concert on Thursday at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom, a Veterans' Parade on Saturday and J'Elvis in Concert on Sunday. Are you taking part? Will you be in or at the parade?
3.) Flu Shots: Mark your calendars, there will be flu shots at the Gulfport Senior Center Tuesday from 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. For more information, call 727-893-2259.
