30% Chance of rain, Appointments at City Council, Historic Preservation Committee meeting and more in "5 Things to Know Today."

Appointments: Christine Brown and Donald Howard were appointed to the Gulfport Firefighters' Pension Board by the Gulfport City Council Tuesday night. Howard's term expires in April, 2015 and Brown's expires in July, 2015.

PSTA Board of Directors Representative: The Gulfprt City Council also appointed South Pasadena Mayor Kathleen Peters to serve as the Group C Cities Representative on the PSTA Board of Directors. Peters previously served but wanted to continue. Her new appointment expires September 30, 2014.

Council Meeting Online: If you missed the Tuesday night City Council meeting, it will be available to view online on the city's website sometime today.

Preserving History: The Historic Preservation Committee meets tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Gulfport Historical Museum, 5301 28th Ave S.
