Gulfport Teen Council: The Gulfport City Council appointed six new members to the Gulfport Teen Council during Tuesday night's regular meeting. They include: Elizabeth Brown Worthington, Andrea Hoyland, Malcolm McGruder, Nolan Slone, Michael Wos and Laura Karbowski.

Third Annual Industrial Strength Chili Cookoff: Last minute chili or salsa entries will be accepted until Friday Sept. 9 for the Third Annual Industrial Strength Chili Cookoff on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Cooks will receive a commemorative cookoff apron, beverage tickets and other perks.
