Who is your role model?

“My role model is my old Bogie track team captain Ashley Mitchell. She taught me most of the things I know about running. We keep in touch with Facebook and we talk on the phone a lot. We text back and forth too, when I run in a meet.”

What clubs do you belong to at Bogie?

“I’m a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and I’m in the Medical Magnet program. I currently carry a 3.5 GPA weighted at a 4.0.”

What’s the last book you read?
"Tess of the D’Urbervilles; it was a required read for class but I really liked it. It had lots of drama and I like drama.”

What is it about track that you think can help you prepare for life?

“I think that the discipline and focus really drive me to want to succeed. Once I know that I can conquer whatever I want, I can use that and apply it to my life.”

Who’s your best friend?

"I have a couple of them actually; Courtney Hilliard and Samantha Noling."

What college are you going to and what will you major in?

“Both Sam and I applied to UCF, University of Central Florida. We’re going to be roommates together. I’m majoring in Nursing and she’s majoring in Physical Therapy. I’d like to be a Nurse Practitioner and then maybe apply to med school. My parents would like me to go directly to med school after I graduate from my undergrad. Med school takes such a long time and I'd like to have the opportunity to help people sooner and make a difference.”

What are your hopes for the future?

"I always think about my career helping a patient; I definitely want to be in the high end of the medical profession. If I become a doctor I can help people. I got my inspiration from my Granddad. He had a heart transplant and I took care of him. I gave him his medications, gave him his shots, changed his dressings and fed him. It really made me want to do something with my life that was involved with the medical profession. I know I have the capacity to take good care of people!”
