Beads, Masks & Celebration at the Spring Fling Mardi Gras Event

For two hours on Monday March 7th, dozens of people of all ages were invited to dress up in beads, feathers and masks for the 2011 Spring Fling Mardi Gras at the Gulfport Senior Center.

The celebration was sold out with all 150 available seats filled. Organizers handed out several different kinds of gift baskets and gift cards to local businesses and restaurants.

Officials made around $450 dollars on the opportunity drawings alone. In all organizers hope to raise between $1,500 and $2,000 for the Senior Center Foundation. That money will go directly towards programs and events at the center, including their fitness center and various fairs throughout the year.
