Gulfport Man Trying to Keep Tradition Going

Mike Furman who moved to Gulfport 1 year ago is trying to win the Brighthouse Senior Idol Contest.

Mike discovered karaoke on the beach last year after moving here in February of 2012 where he quickly made friends and started doing shows at the Katherine Hickman Theater and several other venues. 

In January he tried out for the Senior idol contest in Clearwater making it to the semi-finals in Largo. He will now go to Ruth Eckerd Hall for the finals on April 1st.

Please come out and support Mike, as the winner is determined by audience vote. If you would like to hear him before then you can catch him at Bo-Tiki on March 16th for the Saturday night art walk or on Gulfport beach 2-3 days a week.
