Hello Again Gulfport!

A re-introduction to me and my travel blog!

Hello again my fellow Gulfportians, and welcome back to my travel blog, Vacation in our Nation. As you may or may not remember, last year my parents and I embarked on a cross-country road trip to Colorado. Well this year we're doing it again but this time to New Jersey!

In case you don't remember, let me introduce myself again. My full name is Elizabeth Anne Cecilia Brown-Worthington, I am the daughter of Councilwoman Christine Brown and avid volunteer Lou Worthington, and I am also niece of Bob Worthington. I am a seventh generation Gulfportian and a direct descendant of the founding family. I also just finished up my freshman year at The Boca Ciega High School in the Fundamental Program.

I kept myself busy this year with school. I was freshman class president, taking four honors and one college course; I was a student athlete and ended the year with straight A's. I was a member of the Boca Ciega tennis team, with the best record on the girls’ team and the only girl to make it to finals at districts where I placed second in my division for the district.

You've probably seen me around before. I am a member of the Gulfport Teen Council and Gulfport CERT, I'm at 99% of the city's events and I recently started hostessing at Stella's on Saturday mornings. You might also recognize me from the cover of the Gulfport! Magazine Centennial edition from 2010, from the monthly article I used to write for the Gulfport Gabber or from Gulfport the Musical where I portrayed my great-great-great aunt Sarah Melissa Barnett-Slaughter.

So, as I said this summer we will be traveling to a little town called Branchville, New Jersey. We will be staying in a cabin on Lake Ocquitunk in Stokes State Forest. This is where my dad’s family is from; there is a Worthington Road, Worthington Forest, and a Worthington State Park. My cousins own a fruit market in Branchville as well. My family and I are all very excited for this beautiful trip. We will be leaving at four in the morning on Friday, June 7th, and we will be just about following Tropical Storm Andrea’s path, which means a whole lot of rain!! We will be staying in Christianstown, Virginia on Friday then arriving in New Jersey on Saturday. Just like my last blog I will be featuring two trivia questions about the places we traveled through or visited that day. So today we will start with two trivia questions about Gulfport, leave your answers in the comments.
