Help Plan and Create Aquamania and Beachtoberfest in Gulfport
Community help is needed to organize these events, which will take place on the Point, behind the Rec Center. Here's what you need to know.
The Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce is looking to put on two new events to take place on “The Point” behind the Recreation Center and the Beach, in lieu of the former “Concerts on the Point” events.
The first one is on schedule for June 23 and is tentatively called "Aquamania." The second is on schedule for Oct. 6 and tentatively called "Beachtoberfest."
The thought behind Aquamania is to have Kayak, Paddle Board and Build Your Own Boat races off the Beach; and live music on the Point with vendors selling arts and crafts and having a beer/wine concession.

Beachtoberfest would have more carnival-type games, with live music on the Point, with vendors and beer/wine concession.
