Hello all! I hope everyone is well after yesterday's storm. It's been a long day for my family and I as we set off on yet another road trip. We pulled out of our driveway at approximately 4:20 this morning and hit the road. I slept for a good three hours and when I woke up we were somewhere around Jacksonville and it was just about 8 o'clock. I honestly couldn't tell you what time we pulled into Georgia or anything, I really didn't pay much attention to that.
What I can tell you though is that we ate lunch at Cracker Barrel in Orangeburg, South Carolina. We stopped at rest stops and gas stations and such but didn't take a long stop again until our final destination for the night; Christiansburg, Virginia. My breath was taken away as we crossed the border into Virginia. All the mountains and greenery were so beautiful. We were just in time to see some of the deer being lured out of the wilderness into fields on the side of the road at the prospect of dinner. The view was just breathtaking.
We got into Christiansburg at about 7:20 and ate dinner at this place called Country Cookin'. With the purchase of any entree came a free salad bar AND dessert bar. It was very reasonably priced and the food was very good too. At the moment I'm sitting in an Econolodge in Christiansburg, getting ready for bed. Our goal is to pull out of here at about 7 in the morning. We will reach our final destination of Branchville, New Jersey tomorrow.
