Vacation In Our Nation: Tracking Down Harley-Davidson Stores

Sitting in the car with my dad today while my mom was checking in to the hotel, we were talking about what we did on Wednesday. We sat, and thought, and thought, and thought, and for the life of us, neither me, nor him, could remember what we did. But, you're in luck! We figured it out, and now it's fresh in my mind, so I should be able to remember it long enough to tell you about it!

Harley Stores

For starters, Wednesday morning we ate breakfast in the hotel, then we got back on the road. We headed to the Graceland Harley-Davidson Shop in Tennessee right across the street from . . . you guessed it, Graceland! Every other store in the little shopping strip where that Harley Store was, was dedicated to Elvis. Later that day we stopped at the Natchez Trace Harley-Davidson store in Alabama. I bet you're wondering why we have been visiting all of these Harley Stores. Well, if you know my family, you should know that we don't ride motorcycles, and yes, my dad's first name is Harley, but that also isn't why we've been going to these stores. Well, when we went to the Harley store in Oklahoma, we had just gone in to get a gift. When we went to checkout, there was a jar with poker chips in them that said 'Harley-Davidson Oklahoma City, Oklahoma' and had the Harley emblem on it. So, we asked about them, what you're supposed to do is go to all the Harley stores and collect these chips, so, that's what we've been doing!

The Rest of the Day

After we went to the first Harley store, we traveled to the Bass Pro Shop in Nashville, Tennessee. It was pretty small compared to the ones we've been to. But then the cute guy with the adorable country accent at the register told us that they are moving to a different building and it is going to be the biggest Bass Pro Shop in the nation! At Bass Pro Shop my mom got two pairs of shorts, a gift for a friend, and a mailbox cover :), I also got more camo to add to my wardrobe.

After Bass Pro Shop, we went to Wendy's for lunch. Just after we got our order in, about 15 or so Police cadettes swarmed the place and my mom, dad, and I looked at each other and we all said, almost simultaneously, "Just in time." Then we got back on the road and drove. At about 5 p.m. we stopped at the Natchez Trace Harley Store. Then we drove some more. At about 7:30 we stopped in Moody, Alabama (no seriously, that's the name of the town) for dinner at Cracker Barrel, the service was pretty poor. Then we got back on the road at about 8:30 and headed to our hotel in Pell City, Alabama. When my mom first said what city we're staying in, I thought she said Hell and I'm like "We're staying in Hell?" And now I'm sitting in a Suite in Comfort Suites for only $71 dollars a night!

Well, we should be home Thursday evening about 11:30 or midnight so I may not get to post tomorrow, but if I don't, I will most definitely post on Friday! Hope ya'll have had a good week! By the way, my mom dared me to talk in a southern accent for a week so if you see me around and talk to me, that's why I'm talking like I should be in Tennessee. Bye!
