Detectives Investigate Suspicious Death

ST PETERSBURG - Officials found the body of a woman inside a burning apartment just before 5 p.m. It happened at the Broadway Apartments at 3615 37 Street South, St. Petersburg. The fire was confined to Apartment #10.

Arson and homicide detectives responded and are conducting an examination of the scene. At the moment this incident is being investigated as suspicious death until such time as the cause of death and origin of the fire can be determined.

The identity of the woman is not being released pending positive identification of the body and notification of the next of kin.
