Do You Have the Spookiest Home or Business in Gulfport?

Are you a Halloween buff? Do you cover your home or business with tombstones, spider webs, witches, carved pumpkins and more? If the answer is yes to all of the above, then make sure you enter in Gulfport's Halloween Decoration Contest by the Gulfport Recreation Division.

First, register your home, haunted house or commercial business by filling out the application form and turning it into the Gulfport Recreation Center or Gulfport City Hall by 12 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24. Gulfport Patch has attached the form on this article, feel free to print, sign and turn in. Otherwise, the form is also available at City Hall and the Rec Center. There are three theme categories:

• general
• haunted house
• commercial

The general theme is for single/joint home only, the haunted house theme is for single haunted houses only and the commercial theme is for single/joint business and professional locations, including home occupations.

You Can Help Judge

This year, residents can ride the Gulfport Red Trolley and help judge the haunted sights on Monday evening, October 24^th. Meet at the Gulfport Recreation Center at 6 p.m. The tour should begin around 6:30 p.m.

Winners Announced

A plaque will be awarded to one winner of each theme category and be presented a certificate at the Gulfport’s City Council meeting (televised) Tuesday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m.
